Freddie

Nobody puts Freddie in the corner. Well actually they do because this tall handsome fella is a unique corner hutch. Made in the late 1940’s by Drexel as part of their Travis Court Collection, this piece is a solid mahogany masterpiece.

The body has been painted in Wise Owl Paint’s One Hour Enamel in the color Wrought Iron. Showcased on the lower doors is a gorgeous decoupage paper, A Pastoral Visit, from Mint by Michelle. The trim around the art was painted in Wise Owl’s Heavy Metals metallic gilding paint in the color Bronze with black glaze used to antique. The same antique bronze technique was used on the hardware and hinges. To perfectly complement the Wrought Iron paint and tones of the artwork the interior of the hutch was left with its exposed mahogany. Furniture Salve and Howard’s Restor-a-Finish was used to bring the wood back to its amazing glory.
